Cindy Kushner joined UNICEF Pakistan as Chief of WASH and Climate Change, Environment and DRR (CED) in July 2024.  She previously held a similar position in UNICEF Zimbabwe (2021-24) and was Chief of WASH in Rwanda from 2017-20. Before returning to country level, Cindy worked at UNICEF Headquarters as WASH Senior Advisor for nine years, focusing on partnerships, strategy and global initiatives from 2014-2017 and as the founding Coordinator of the Sanitation and Water for All global partnership for the previous six years.  Prior to UNICEF, she implemented both emergency and development-focused community water supply and sanitation programs in Timor-Leste, Albania and Uganda for international NGOs and the UN.  Cindy holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and a Bachelors’ degree in Political Science.
