Mr. Najam Ahmed Shah an officer of Pakistan Administrative Service. Prior to present posting as Chairman, Planning & Development Board, Government of Sindh, he has served as the Additional Chief Secretary of Forest & Wildlife Department, Government of Sindh. His foundational academic background is in Electrical Engineering. Distinguished as a Fulbright Scholar and an Eisenhower Fellow, Mr. Shah possesses dual Masters Degrees in Management & Engineering from Cranfield University, UK, and in Public Administration from the prestigious Harvard University Kennedy School.
Before embarking on a career in public service, Mr. Shah garnered significant experience in the private sector, primarily focusing on energy sector project management. His public sector journey spans over two decades, during which he has not only worked in the field but has also led substantial portfolios in the energy and health sectors in Punjab. His contributions in Sindh are noteworthy, having served as Secretary of Finance before his role in local government.
In addition to being a Project Management Professional, Mr. Najam Shah has excelled in major areas of specialization e.g. Public Management, Procurement Management, change management and negotiations.. His tireless dedication and outstanding service were recognized in March 2016, when he was honored with the “President’s Pride of Performance Award.
