Ms. Zulekha is a seasoned international development consultant with over 20 years of experience in gender, communication, and disaster risk management. She holds an MA in Media and Development from the University of Westminster (UK) and an MSc in Mass Communications from NUML (Pakistan). Currently serving as Program Manager at the Gender and Child Cell of Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), she leads national efforts on gender-responsive disaster risk reduction. Her career spans work with UNDP, UKRI, Laajverd, CCPP, and Helvetas across South Asia and the UK, as well as heading SABAH Pakistan. An expert in community engagement, inclusive communication, research, and capacity building, Ms. Zulekha has also taught as visiting faculty at PIDE, the National College of Arts, NUML, the International Islamic University, and Bahria University. Her work consistently champions the voice, agency, and leadership of women and girls in resilience, recovery, and reform. From founding a creative enterprise connecting artisans to global markets to designing policy frameworks and humanitarian strategies, she embodies a rare blend of strategic insight and community-centered innovation.
